Terms of service

VR Podiatry Ltd · Last updated 31 July 2026

These terms apply to appointments booked with VR Podiatry Ltd at 88 Rectory Lane, Chelmsford, CM1 1RF. Booking an appointment means you accept them.

1. Booking

Appointments can be booked online, by telephone or by email. Before your first visit you will be sent a short online form covering consent, medical history and current medication. Please complete it before you attend — it means the appointment time is spent on your feet rather than on paperwork.

All new patients require a new patient assessment before any other treatment, with one exception: a biomechanics assessment may be booked as a first appointment.

2. Appointment lengths

New patient appointments are up to 40 minutes, including treatment. Follow-up appointments are up to 30 minutes. Short appointments are intended for a single, straightforward issue.

3. Cancellations and missed appointments

We ask for at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or rearrange. Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice, or missed without notice, may be charged at the full appointment fee.

If you are unwell with sickness, diarrhoea, a fever or an active contagious infection, please contact us to rearrange rather than attending. Rescheduling for this reason is never charged.

4. Late arrival

If you arrive late we will always try to treat you, but the appointment may need to be shortened so that the following patient is not delayed. Arriving more than 15 minutes late may mean the appointment has to be rebooked, and it may be treated as a missed appointment.

5. Fees and payment

Current fees are published on our website and confirmed when you book. Payment is due at the end of your appointment and can be made by card, contactless or via an online payment link. Nail surgery is quoted individually following assessment, and the full cost is confirmed with you before the procedure is booked.

Where further treatment is recommended, the cost is explained to you before it is carried out.

6. Treatment and consent

All treatment is provided by an HCPC-registered podiatrist. Nothing is carried out without your informed consent, and you may withdraw consent at any point. We will explain what we propose to do, the alternatives, and any material risks, in plain language.

Outcomes cannot be guaranteed. Healing times vary between individuals, and some conditions — particularly fungal nail infections and verrucae — can be slow to resolve and may need repeat treatment. Aftercare instructions form part of your treatment; not following them may affect the result.

7. Referrals

Where something falls outside the scope of podiatric practice, or where a second opinion is appropriate, we will tell you and can provide a referral letter for your GP or another specialist.

8. Children and vulnerable adults

Patients under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, who must give consent for treatment. Anyone who would like a chaperone present is welcome to bring one.

9. Conduct

We treat every patient with courtesy and respect, and we ask for the same in return. We reserve the right to decline treatment where behaviour towards staff is abusive or threatening.

10. Liability

VR Podiatry Ltd holds full professional indemnity and public liability insurance. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for anything else which cannot lawfully be limited.

11. Complaints

If something has gone wrong, please tell us — see our complaints procedure.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
